About Our Founder

Hi. I am Komal.

They call me Dr. K.

I am an educator and entrepreneur dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and empowering individuals. After over a decade in the corporate world in NYC, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my passion for industry-academia partnerships, which I believe can transform our world and touch the lives of millions. 

As full-time visiting faculty, I teach applied communication courses at Pepperdine.  I founded SpeakerPost.com, a free platform that connects educators with industry experts to enrich students' learning experiences. Every quarter, I introduce high school students to different careers through the SpeakerPost High School Program. Via Public Speaking LA, I empower young minds to be confident speakers, critical listeners and thinkers. All of these initiatives seek to build a bridge between industry and academia and help students get career-ready.

My mission continues to focus on driving impactful change through collaboration and knowledge sharing. Through 1000Spotlights.com, I highlight individuals making significant contributions to their communities. At ACADEMIA, I manage a diverse database of expert presenters, offering tailored workshops and seminars. 

I currently serve on two boards: South Bay Indian American Association and Wayne State Alumni Association. I care about community. The idea of touching student lives excites me. I want to inspire and to educate.
